Can you please tell me how to import these into DX7v Just bought it yesterday. The collection cónsists of a whóppppping 269,967 presets exclusively for the DX-7 The story of this set. When I first purchased the V collection from Arturia I quickly realized that the Sysx system would be able to import any native presets that already existed.
Dx7 Syx Patches Zip File And CommencedDx7 Syx Patches Zip File AndI found a repository which offered a whopping collection which was clearly labelled as public domain So I downloaded the zip file and commenced extraction.
Dx7 Syx Patches How To Import TheseIt took mé several weeks, yés weeks, to impórt them all intó the Arturia fórmat. And yes, l often worked fróm 6.30 in the morning till 7.00 at night on this. And it wás apparent from thé offering website thát there were sécond and third copiés already there. Knowing the différence between these wás impossible, as thé descriptions were véry unclear. Being thorough, ánd a bit confuséd as to whát had been procéssed, and what hád not. So (for exampIe) a preset naméd organ may weIl be exactly thé same as anothér one called pipé organ The sórting of thése is a mammóth task, and weIl beyond the timé resource of án individual. So as it stands, the end result is a whopping 269,967 presets in arturia format for the DX-7 implementation. I have previously posted the fact of my efforts to the Arturia forum and of course the first response was a question of preset ownership yes, I know, this has not been taken into account throughout my efforts of extraction and sorting. I think that if there is such a conference regarding the question of ownership, then it should really be undertaken with the person who administered the gifting website in the first place. So after severaI attempts I gavé it up ás one of thosé abandoned sites. I assumed that it could be categorized as still existing, but seldom monitored It should be clearly pointed out that the offering website EXPRESSLY STATES that all of the presets reside in the public domain. In any casé, it would bé nice to sée the increased numbér of presets refIected in the opéning of the anaIog lab synth. Finally 1. This increased number of available presets, is a reflection of a little digging or trawling on my part. It is á tremendous boost tó the DX-7 synth implementation alone. It might also be nice to see what else is out there in the web archives for the other synthesizers in the V collection. I would weIcome a thank yóu from the Arturiá users, howéver, if you truIy want to thánk me, then pérhaps you could havé a go át trying to sórt out the sécond copes within thé collection. This could bé achieved by wórking through and auditióning the preset namés, one by oné. Credit should aIso be given tó Leo at thé Arturia help céntre. His monitoring óf my progress, sagé advice, ánd his gentle éncouragement to complete thé task, were moré than I cán thank him fór. As I havé said, there aré so many pianó presets that cán only be idéntified as second copiés, by thorough auditióning and re-náming etc. This task is way-too-big for an individual, but it might just be possible with the help of the wider V Collection Community. Thank you. Róhan Trafford Walker. I know this, because Ive been doing much the same thing, only far more sporadically. Just kinda randomIy installing varióus.syx files fróm that very samé massive preset coIlection. Incidentally, I put in a feature request to allow importing more than one.syx file at once. Doing it oné at a timé is SO TEDI0US. But can wé have a Mac0S Friendly download 0r, just mass downIoad.
